Dr Mary Galvin is a research fellow in the Trinity Centre for Practice & Healthcare Innovation (TCPHI) in the School of Nursing and Midwifery at Trinity College Dublin. Her research interests are within psychology, design, and patient public involvement in health research and she has presented her work at peer-reviewed multidisciplinary conferences both nationally and internationally as well as secured peer-reviewed publications in high-impact journals.

She completed her PhD in Psychology at University College Cork where she was awarded a scholarship under the Digital Arts and Humanities Programme. Since then she has worked at Dublin City University, the Centre for Innovative Human Systems at Trinity College Dublin, and University College Dublin (across H2020, FP7 & Enterprise Ireland funded projects) exploring how digital design can respond to, and help understand, society’s health and wellbeing.

Previous to this, Mary completed a BA in Marketing and Languages, working in the private sector for five years. However, her experience since then has been strongly rooted in advocating the patient and public voice in research, in particular the voice of those experiencing social exclusion.
