Family Support Services

We understand that family members can be deeply impacted by their loved one’s drug or alcohol use.  It can be a stressful and traumatic time.  Everyone impacted by a loved one’s drug or alcohol use needs support, care and an opportunity to heal.

Our peer-led Family Support Group meets on a weekly basis to offer guidance, help and advice to anyone who is affected by a loved one’s addiction. This is a safe place for families to come together and talk about their issues in a secure environment. One-to-one tailored support is also offered for crisis intervention and emotional support.

The programme is run Tuesday 7pm-8.30pm. The group provides a confidential space facilitated by our experienced addiction counsellors, where you can share experiences and receive support and guidance on how to best manage the challenges you face. The team also run PUP (Parents under Pressure) Thursday 2pm-4pm.

OBJECTIVES:

1. Support
2. Interrupting the negative dynamic of drug/alcohol misuse
3. Looking after your own needs
4. Reinforce the work of the service agency
5. Resources available

Family members do not have to have a loved one accessing our service to attend the Family Support Group.  We encourage you to contact our Family Support Group service to talk with our team, who can offer you support and guidance on dealing with your situation.
